ETTG, with IDOS as one of its members, came together for a series of meetings. In the spotlight: the EU’s ambitions, vision, challenges and opportunities regarding its current and future international cooperation priorities.
IDOS director Prof. Anna-Katharina Hornidge as well as IDOS researchers Dr Julian Bergmann and Dr Niels Keijzer attented the series, which took place from 7 to 9 April in Warsaw. The meetings were held back to back with key events of the Polish EU Council Presidency.
On 7 April, IDOS and the Royal Elcano Institute facilitated an informal seminar together with the College of Europe in Natolin, an event that was co-organised with the ETTG and the EADI working group on the EU as a development cooperation actor.
On 8 April, in the margins of the informal EU Directors General meeting, IDOS contributed to a panel discussion that featured a recent ETTG study on the EU’s engagement in fragile states. Finally, on 9 April a joint seminar co-organised by ETTG and the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) provided an informal space to engage in discussions on financing for development, the EU’s cooperation with the Eastern Neighbourhood countries, its enlargement ambitions and the EU’s Global Gateway.
