In 2024, IDOS will continue to be involved in international networks and contribute to shaping international cooperation in a policy advisory capacity. In the coming months, IDOS will be involved in the Think7 and Think20 advisory processes of the G7 and G20.
As a member of the T20 International Advisory Council, Prof. Anna-Katharina Hornidge will contribute to shaping the T20 process. In addition, as Co-Chair of the T7 Task Force on „Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development“, she will take part in the development of science-based recommendations for action for the G7 in the relevant policy areas. As Lead Co-Chair of the Task Force „Trade and Investment for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth“, Dr Axel Berger will contribute to shaping the work of the international think tank network for the reform of the international trade and investment system. On the occasion of the start of this year’s G7 process under Italy’s presidency and the G20 process under Brazil’s presidency, Anna-Katharina Hornidge and Axel Berger took part in an exchange with State Secretary Dr Jörg Kukies on 23 January. Together with representatives from politics, academia and civil society, they reflected on the challenges and opportunities for action facing the G7 and G20 this year. Anna-Katharina Hornidge also contributed to the virtual kick-off conference of this year’s Think7 process on 30 January. Together with Dario Scannapieco, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti – CDP, Francesco Profumo, Fondazione Compagnia di Sanpaolo; and Chloe Teevan, ECDPM, she spoke about the importance of and obstacles to shaping a green and digital future.
