The IDOS education and dialogue formats African-German Leadership Academy and the Managing Global Governance Academy awarded a prize by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the German UNESCO Commission in 2023 as formats that have been particularly successful, broadly effective and innovative in promoting and implementing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the 2030 Agenda. A high-ranking jury with great ESD expertise selected actors in the categories „learning sites“, „multipliers“ and „educational landscapes“. The winners will become part of a network of outstanding educational initiatives.
The IDOS training formats explore forms and mechanisms of local, national and global, inter- and transnational cooperation. Both training programmes provide a learning and networking platform for government institutions, think tanks, research institutions as well as civil society organisations to gather and expand their knowledge in the field of sustainable development.
The common starting point of IDOS training programmes are necessary transformations in diverse societies and globally, so as to cope with complex crises. A far-reaching transformation requires new quality of global cooperation, not least due to worldwide interdependencies. With our activities, we support the implementation of Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063 in Africa, as well as the strengthening of the global governance system. ESD is thus a core element of our work. We give people from different backgrounds the opportunity to exchange ideas and to consider and reflect on their own actions in global contexts.
