On 2 December 2022, Prof. Dr Clara Brandi was part of the dialogue of the Engagement Groups at the final meeting in the Federal Chancellery with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, State Secretary Dr Jörg Kukies and Dr Ulrich Oberndorfer, Head of the G7/G20 Sherpa Staff. Together with the Global Solutions Initiative, IDOS co-led the Think7 process in 2022, which brings together think tanks and research institutes from G7 countries and beyond. Its goal is to develop science-based recommendations for G7 and to support the level of global policy decisions through transregional science collaborations. Special attention was given to the close involvement of researchers from major emerging economies and the linkage with the Think20 process, which was led by Indonesian institutes in 2022. The core recommendations of the more than 300 researchers involved were presented at last year’s Think7 Summit on 23 and 24 May in Berlin and discussed with Chancellor Scholz on 25 May.
