On 20 and 21 August 2022, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) opened its doors to the public at its Berlin location. IDOS was represented with an exhibition stand on both days. Alma Wisskirchen, Tanja Vogel, Head of Communications, and climate researcher Dr. Gabriela Iacobuta provided information at the IDOS stand about the Institute’s activities in research, policy advice and training with a special focus on climate research, feminist foreign and security policy, social cohesion and policy advice activities of IDOS and partners in the context of the German G7 presidency, the Think7 group. The three training programmes run by IDOS – the Postgraduate Training Programme, Managing Global Governance (Academy) and the African Academy – were also presented in video formats. Interested visitors were introduced to the Institute’s variety of topics and learned about the background to the new name of the Institute via topic-specific icon cards and selected objects. IDOS also participated in a playful rally of the BMZ on the occasion of the Open Day: Visitors had to answer questions in order to get a stamp for their rally passport at selected stations. The filled stamp passport could then be exchanged for a small gift from the BMZ.
On Saturday, BMZ department head Brigit Pickel visited the IDOS stand and was able to get to know current research priorities of IDOS as well as the new Corporate Design in person.
