We are excited to launch this year’s editions of both the Managing Global Governance (MGG) Academy and the Postgraduate Programme for Sustainability Cooperation (PGP). Bringing together master graduates & early- to mid-career professionals, both flagship programmes unite participants with diverse perspectives to tackle pressing global sustainability and development challenges.

Managing Global Governance (MGG) Academy This year, the MGG Academy is welcoming its 24th batch of professionals from partner countries across the globe. During the next three months, the participants jointly explore how they can contribute to a sustainable future as individuals, in the context of their work, in their communities, societies and in inter- and transnational cooperation. Next to knowledge exchange in academic modules, participants reflect about their role as agents of change in leadership modules, and put knowledge into action in projects co-developed with MGG network partners. The International Futures programme, co-organized with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, and a trip to Brussels, to exchange with EU-policymakers and think tanks, round off the programme.

  • Participant Profiles & Expertise: This year’s MGG cohort brings together 18 experts from government institutions, think tanks, civil society organizations and the business sector across Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa and Europe. Their professional backgrounds range from water and climate governance, to anti-corruption work and AI business development.

Postgraduate Programme for Sustainability Cooperation (MGG exp) At the same time, the PGP has embarked on its 62nd edition, preparing talented young professionals for careers and future leadership roles in international cooperation and development policy. Through academic modules on international cooperation, sustainability and development, and empirical and applied policy-oriented research projects, the PGP equips participants with the analytical and practical skills needed to navigate complex global governance landscapes.

  • Participant Profiles & Expertise: The new PGP participants join us with strong academic foundations in development Studies, economic policy, political science, public policy, sustainability science, peace and conflict research, social work and global studies.

Together, the MGG Academy and PGP cohorts turn IDOS into a vibrant hub for mutual learning, cross-sectoral dialogue, and practical problem-solving. We look forward to the innovative ideas and collaborative energy both groups will bring to our Institute in the coming months!
