Norway moves to define a new development policy direction

Norway, at the forefront of ODA, is crafting a new policy. IDOS researcher discusses future development frameworks in Oslo.

Norway is preparing a White Paper on a new development policy approach. The country is in a unique position as a development actor: new OECD data on Official Development Assistance (ODA) for 2025 show that Norway leads all donor countries with an ODA/GNI ratio of 1.04%. The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) invited PD Dr Stephan Klingebiel to Oslo for a talk on “Global Development Policy Uncertainty: Changing Frameworks, Norms, and Forms of Aid”, in addition to several bilateral meetings on specific topics.
