The event was held at the historic Festsaal at the University of Bonn.

The workshop brought together researchers from the different institutions to present cutting-edge work on climate change, development and sustainability, while offering plenty of opportunity for discussions and networking.

The event started with opening remarks from Prof. Clara Brandi (IDOS & University of Bonn) and Prof. Thomas Dohmen (University of Bonn). It then comprised a number of fantastic research presentations on topics ranging from climate change resilience through health systems, food price shocks and maternal nutrition, climate policy uncertainty and household investment to environmental regulations and foreign direct investment in developing countries.

The subsequent “science jam session” consisted of a number of exciting short inputs on different research activities – including insights on already finished, still ongoing and future projects. Topics included the architecture of EU climate protection, international agreements and sustainability, tax compliance and local growth, the effect of meat taxes on consumption, education and cultural heterogeneity, information provision via the phone and behaviour during a pandemic, mobile internet and family dynamics, and the impact of floods on the poor and vulnerable.

The workshop ended with an informal get-together with drinks and finger food.

The next event is scheduled for 2027.

Contact persons for the workshop are Alina Sowa and Dr Hanna Fuhrmann-Riebel at IDOS, and Charlotte Eisvogel at the University of Bonn.
