Global Think Tanks Cooperation 2025 Chapter

This platform aims to foster collaboration among influential global policy think tanks across the G20, G7, COP, and other geopolitical and economic platforms. It is thus an important example of the kind of cooperation and dialogue needed in today’s times more than ever. It organised an exchange on the side of the UNGA 80 and ahead of COP30 Brazil and the G20 US Presidency in 2026.

The Global Think Tanks Cooperation (GTTC) is an initiative led by The Rockefeller Foundation and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). The aim of its event was to discuss how global think tanks can cooperate and contribute to advancing sustainable development against all current barriers, obstacles, and backlash.

Each of the sessions of the 2025 Chapter event focused on different cooperation platforms, institutions and formats (such as T20/G20 South Africa, BRICS Brazil Summit, UNGA80, COP30, etc.) and looked at respective challenges and opportunities, both with a view on recent developments and on what lies ahead. Dr Axel Berger contributed as a speaker to a roundtable discussion focusing on the Financing for Development Process & the Hamburg Sustainability Conference. He emphasised the importance of creating momentum and strong platforms for advancing the SDGs and start building towards Beyond2030 and emphasised the HSC’s focus on new partnerships and financing from the private sector.
