Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the version of the website www.blogs.idos-research.de currently available on the internet.

The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) endeavours to make its website accessible in line with the provisions enacted to transpose EU Directive 2016/2102 into national law and the provisions of Germany’s Accessibility Reinforcement Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz – BFSG). The BFSG transposes the European Accessibility Act (EAA) into German law and from 28 June 2025 onwards also obliges providers of digital services to implement accessibility in line with the EN 301 549 standard.

The website uses barrier free layouts provided by WordPress.

The website is largely accessible, but still has a small number of barriers, which IDOS is taking active steps to address.

We are aware of the following barriers:

  • Some of the videos in the blog contributions do not have subtitles or audio descriptions.
  • Content is not available in easy read versions or sign language.
  • Some content might not have sufficient colour contrast.

We are continually striving to eliminate these barriers and to make further improvements to our website in terms of its accessibility.

This statement was produced on 11 July 2025.

Arbitration procedure

An Arbitration Service attached to the German Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities has been set up pursuant to Section 16 of the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz – BGG). You can apply for arbitration to this service.

The Arbitration Service is mandated to find out-of-court solutions to disputes concerning accessibility between persons with disabilities and public authorities. Arbitration procedures are free of charge. You do not need to engage legal counsel.

The aim is to work with the Arbitration Service to find a mutually acceptable solution.

For further information about how an arbitration procedure works, please consult the Arbitration Service’s website.
