Prof. Stephan Klingebiel engaged in an in-depth exchange with members of the Network of Southern Think Tanks (NeST) on the evolving international debates surrounding development concepts and policies.

The meeting was organised by Prof. Li Xiaoyun from the College of International Development and Global Agriculture (CIDGA) at China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing. NeST participants included Elizabeth Sidiropoulos (South African Institute of International Affairs, SAIIA, Johannesburg), Sachin Chaturvedi (Research and Information System for Developing Countries, RIS, Delhi), André de Mello e Souza (Institute for Applied Economic Research, IPEA, Brasília), as well as Xu Xiuli and Zhang Chuanhong, both from CAU.
The discussions were strongly influenced by how development issues are increasingly shaped by geopolitical dynamics. The outcomes of the exchange will be made accessible to a broader expert audience, among other channels, through a public webinar titled „Development Cooperation after USAID: Perspectives from the Global South„, scheduled for 28 February 2025.
