Postgraduate Programme for Sustainability Cooperation

A changing world requires a changing programme. After six decades in which the IDOS Postgraduate Programme has shaped careers in international cooperation, it has now evolved into the „Postgraduate Programme for Sustainability Cooperation“ (PGP).

The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is pleased to announce a major overhaul of its prestigious Postgraduate Programme. The PGP is adapting to new challenges by sharpening its profile and introducing new features:

  • Promoting diversity: The programme welcomes for the first time international participants and introduces a scholarship for all participants to facilitate access to the programme.
  • Collaboration in equal research partnerships: Participants will work more closely in teams with partner organisations from Africa, Asia and Latin America to solve real-world challenges.
  • Strengthening skills: Participants systematically develop skills to find their way in today’s more complex world of global cooperation, including the ability to work in partnership and sharpening reflection skills.

With this reorientation, the PGP is not only setting new innovative standards for the training of young talents in international cooperation, but is also ensuring that it remains attuned to contemporary trends even after 60 years.

This is an amazing and needed programme, especially with the world unstable-changing climate conditions. Please remind me as to what it takes to be the part of the programme or the process to apply for the programme.
