IDOS, in a consortium led by the Center for Development Research (ZEF) and together with the University of Bonn and the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, has won the tender for the accompanying project of the BMBF programme „Sustainable land management in Sub-Saharan Africa: Improving livelihoods through local research“. Over the next four years, the project, called INTERFACES, will accompany several other research consortia of German and African partners as they develop innovations in different African regions that advance socio-ecologically sustainable land management. In doing so, IDOS will, on the one hand, take a „follow-the-innovation“ research approach to document implementation challenges and adaptations of research designs, thereby enabling an assessment of the local and transnational structural determinants that shape transregional sustainability research. On the other hand, it will shape internal and external communication and feed key programme findings into pan-African and global debates. The most important partner is the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA).
