A World in Transition – Rethinking Development Cooperation

Around 130 participants responsible for German development cooperation discussed new approaches to development cooperation in Berlin and Bonn.

The participants from German embassies and missions came to Berlin and Bonn for the biennial meeting to exchange views at the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The meeting was held under the motto “A World in Transition – Rethinking Development Cooperation.”

Indeed, the international context is characterised by profound changes and crises. Development policy and actors in the Global South are not only affected in many ways, but are also proactively shaping new structures and partnerships.

On 26 March, Prof. Stephan Klingebiel, IDOS, was invited to give a presentation on “Global Development Policy in the 21st Century” and to discuss participants’ respective experiences with them.
