The PGP cohort returned from the winter holiday recharged and ready to be fully immersed in their respective research projects. With the overseas research stay fast approaching, January has been shaped by one main task: preparing the inception reports that will guide the research phase abroad.

Throughout the month, the three research teams heading to Indonesia, Rwanda, and Ghana/Nigeria have worked closely to draft, coordinate, and refine their inception reports. This process has involved sharpening research questions, aligning methodologies, mapping out timelines, and defining roles and responsibilities. The reports will be presented at the end of the month, marking a significant milestone as the cohort moves from preparation to implementation.

In addition, the cohort gathered for the traditional PGP alumni get-together, a valuable opportunity to connect with participants from previous years, exchange experiences, and engage in conversations about what lies ahead during the research phase and beyond in a relaxed and fun setting.

As a final step in preparations, participants and team leads will take part in security training. This essential component of fieldwork readiness will equip the teams to navigate diverse contexts with both responsibility and confidence.

As January draws to a close, the cohort looks forward with focus and anticipation. With inception reports nearing completion and final preparations underway, and the three research teams are ready for their stay abroad!
