Our international training programmes open new perspectives in sustainability and global cooperation.

We have great news for anyone interested in a career in sustainable development and global governance: The application phases for our renowned training programmes are in full swing! We are looking forward to welcoming a large number of motivated applicants.

 

Postgraduate Programme for Sustainability Cooperation (PGP)

The 62nd postgraduate programme offers a unique opportunity to deal comprehensively with the challenges and opportunities of sustainability cooperation. Through exciting and research-intensive preparation, it is a gateway to a career in international cooperation. The programme runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 May 2027.

Target group

Master’s graduates from the EU, or German residence permit holders who are interested in international cooperation and graduated no more than five years ago.

Programme focus

The nine-month postgraduate programme provides participants with competence development for a professional career in international cooperation. It combines insights into fundamental topics of international cooperation with working in an empirical, applied and policy-relevant research project. Individual coaching and a valuable network complete the programme. The aim of the programme is to train future professionals for complex challenges in international cooperation.

The Managing Global Governance (MGG) Academy

The MGG Academy 2026 is an international dialogue and training programme, taking place in Bonn from 11 September to 29 November 2026. It brings together highly qualified early career professionals from Brazil, China, the European Union, India, Indonesia, Mexico and South Africa across sectoral boundaries.

Target group

The MGG Academy is aimed at highly qualified early career professionals from government institutions, research institutions and think tanks, civil society organisations and the private sector.  The dialogue and training programme is open to applicants from Brazil, China, the European Union, India, Indonesia, Mexico and South Africa.

Programme focus

The MGG Academy aims to support future change makers in addressing global challenges and contributing to transformations to sustainability. The three-months-programme of the MGG Academy combines academic modules on pressing global challenges with leadership modules to enhance personal and social competencies and action-oriented project work.
