During the meetings, IDOS and Chinese partner organisations deepened their exchange on global challenges, cooperation topics, and new impulses for joint activities. The visit included discussions at several universities.

From September 15 to 19, Dr Sven Grimm and Dr Wulf Reiners travelled to China to visit research organisations of the MGG Network. The purpose of the visit was to deepen exchanges with long-standing partner institutions and to explore new impulses for future cooperation. Key stops on the journey included the China Agricultural University, Tsinghua University, the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) and the Shanghai Institutes of International Studies (SIIS). Discussions centred on pressing global challenges, opportunities for joint research, and perspectives for continued collaboration within the network.

Highlights of the trip were the MGG Network meetings in Beijing (17 September) and Shanghai (18 September), which brought together alumni of the MGG Academy from 15 Chinese partner organisations. The meeting provided a space to reflect on recent developments in the network, to share experiences on central cooperation topics, and to discuss concrete ideas for joint activities in the years ahead.
Through these visits and encounters, the structures for trustful collaboration between IDOS and its Chinese partner institutions from research, public administration and implementing agencies through the MGG Network were further strengthened.
