As part of IDOS’ cooperation with the cluster of excellence Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies (BCDSS), IDOS welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Port Hartcourt, Nigeria – one of the most important and active partners of the BCDSS in Africa.

The visit took place on 3 July. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, Dr Gloria Obiageri Chindah and Prof. Chioma Daisy Onyige (fellow at BCDSS) exchanged ideas with Dr Torsten Schlageter (University of Bonn) as well as IDOS Director Prof. Anna-Katharina Hornidge and fellow IDOS researchers Dr Sven Grimm, Dr George Tonderai Mudiumu and Dr Christoph Sommer.
As IDOS and BCDSS look forward to the upcoming jointly hosted Conference Knowledge Dependencies and the Un/Making of Equitable Futures, the exchange provided stimulating food for thought and explored further opportunities for collaboration – within the context of the Bonn Excellence Cluster around Dependency Studies, as well as as part of IDOS’ academies.
