On 20 May 2025, Prof. Anna-Katharina Hornidge was invited as a speaker to the series “Diskutier Ma(h)l” organised by the Chair of (Social) Ethics at the University of Bonn and Evangelisches Forum.
The series invites students, researchers, civil society and political actors and the interested public to an evening of sharing food and thought. Prof. Anna Katharina Hornidge’s input approached the evening’s theme of “how about saving the world” by reflecting on how the current state of the world, with attacks on the rules-based international order, free science, and democracy requires a strong role for development policy as cooperation policy, building trust-based and strategic alliances with partners of all income-groups and on all continents. She emphasised the importance of advocating for a logic of cooperation and solidarity, with a crucial role for science and civil society. What followed was an evening of very meaningful conversation among a diverse audience that might not have come across each other and together if not for formats like these.
