IDOS at United Nations Day in Bonn

IDOS was again present at this year’s United Nations Day in Bonn, showcasing its research work on UN issues. Expert Dr Anna Novoselova answered questions about the current project „The United Nations and global common good: roles, possibilities and limits of UN development cooperation“ and presented current publications.

The three training formats of IDOS also attracted great interest: the Postgraduate Programme for Sutainability Cooperation, the Managing Global Governance Academy and the Academy of Shaping Futures: African-European Network on Development and Sustainability. Many interested people came to the stand to find out about the content and entry requirements for these programmes. However, the focus of the event was on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Marie Philipsenburg and Daniela Rojas from the IDOS communications team informed about ongoing research projects that deal with the implementation of the SDGs. The large number of visitors at the UN Day event shows once again how great the interest in the United Nations and their values is and that the UN still plays an important role in times of conflicts and environmental crises.

Every year in October, the UN city of Bonn celebrates the birthday of the United Nations. At information stands, activities and music, interested visitors can get to know around 30 international organisations that are active in Bonn. IDOS is one of the institutions that regularly presents insights into its work on that occasion.
