In May, partners from the Green hydrogen in Argentina and Uruguay Research Team of the 59th postgraduate programme, led by Dr Andreas Stamm and Dr Rita Strohmaier, visited IDOS.

The research team was the first ever to be designed and carried out in close cooperation with institutional partners from the Global South, and in which young researchers from the partner countries participated as equal team members. The stay in Bonn made it possible to jointly analyse the results and present them at IDOS. The entire team then travelled to Bremen. There they learnt about the Hanseatic city’s ambitions to position itself as a hub for the hydrogen economy in Germany. A visit to the Bremen site of the Airbus Group provided an insight into the aircraft manufacturer’s research into using hydrogen as a climate-friendly means of propulsion in air transport.
