The College of International Development and Global Agriculture (CIDGA) at China Agriculture University (CAU) and the German Institute for Development and Sustainability (IDOS) organised a one-day workshop on „The Future of Global Development“ in Berlin on 21 November.

Building on a long-standing partnership between CAU and IDOS, the workshop took advantage of the visit of a high-level CAU delegation to Germany to open a space for discussions on development paradigms, the future of development cooperation, China’s global public goods approach and potential areas of cooperation on development-related topics between China and Germany.
The workshop was attended by scholars from academic institutions in China, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as representatives from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Foreign Office, German political foundations and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The workshop was organised by Dr Sebastian Haug, Dr Heiner Janus and Prof. Stephan Klingebiel on the part of IDOS.
