On 10 October 2023, the application phase for the Shaping Futures Academy 2024 started. The 2024 programme takes place from April to November.
Formerly known as BMZ African-German Leadership Academy (African Academy), the programme is now called “Shaping Futures: African-European Network on Development and Sustainability Academy” (Shaping Futures Academy). It is a dialogue and training programme targeting at early to mid-career professionals from participating African (Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Togo and Zambia) and European (EU, EEA, and UK) countries.
The Academy aims to empower future leaders on both continents by bringing together like-minded peers to reflect on their roles in their respective communities and institutions, and to develop strategies on how they can induce or support change processes for a transformation to sustainability in the present and future contexts.
The programme comprises five continuous learning blocks, three of which are part-time online phases and two of which are full-time on-site phases in Bonn (with study trips to Berlin and Brussels, Belgium) and Accra, Ghana.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 15 November 2023 for interested parties from the participating African and European partner countries.
In addition, there will be an online Q&A session on Wednesday, 25 October 2023 for interested parties to take part in and receive further information or clarification on any questions.
