The BMZ African-German Leadership Academy (African Academy) seeks 25 early to mid-career professionals aged between 25 and 40 from Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia and Germany to participate in the dialogue and training programme. Some of the intended aims of the programme are to foster collaborative creation of new knowledge, raise mutual understanding and establish trustful cooperation.
The first edition of the African Academy took place online between April and May this year. For 2022, the full schedule comprises a 10-week subsidised in-person phase – spent in Bonn and Berlin –, preceded by a two-week part-time online preparatory phase.
Hosted by the German Development Institute/ Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the programme lays the foundation for long-term collaboration and partnership with participating institutions and develops champions of sustainability working towards sustainable development. Civil society, academia, think tanks, public administration, business and media professionals are welcome to apply.
