IDOS Directors Prof. Anna-Katharina Hornidge and Dr Axel Berger had the opportunity to meet the recently appointed Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Alabali Radovan for a frank and fruitful conversation on how Germany can advance a new development policy understood as cooperation policy. In times in which a narrow logic of defence risks crowding out the logic of cooperation, partnership and peacebuilding, Germany is called upon to live up to its responsibility and with partners worldwide work towards sustainable futures with a life worth living for all within our planetary boundaries. We assured the minister that IDOS can be counted upon to contribute to informed policy-making and the formation of alliances for sustainable futures with our research, policy-advice, transnational knowledge cooperation and training.
