The latest release adds Egypt and Zambia, expanding coverage to 111 jurisdictions and 1512 country-years. New website features enhance data accessibility with searchable country profiles and detailed tax provisions.
IDOS and the Council on Economic Policies (CEP) have launched the latest version of the Global Tax Expenditures Database (GTED) with expanded coverage and enhanced functionality. The database provides an overview of tax expenditures granted worldwide, insofar as they have been made public by the respective governments. The update incorporates two additional countries, Egypt and Zambia, bringing the total to 111 reporting jurisdictions, representing over 50 percent of global jurisdictions. Data have been updated for 82 countries, adding 162 new country-years to the GTED panel, which brings the total number of country-years to 1512. The GTED website has also been improved with new features, allowing users to view, sort, and search disaggregated country information on country profiles, and to perform keyword searches for specific provisions across the entire database. These enhancements aim to improve data accessibility and usability.
