What role will the ‘super election year’ 2024 play for international cooperation in general and for development cooperation in particular? Specifically, how will the election results in India, the EU and the upcoming election in the USA affect international cooperation and how do they relate to German development cooperation and current budget debates? Prof. Anna-Katharina Hornidge addressed these questions in her keynote speech on 29 August as part of the Development Economics Dialogue of the Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG).

In the context of a keynote on ‘International Cooperation in Times of Geopolitical Reordering’ at the European Rotary Summit in Bonn on 31 August, Anna-Katharina Hornidge will address the ongoing discussions at federal policy level on the relevance and European integration of international partnerships and development policy by reflecting on Europe’s position in the context of a shifting world order and highlighting the strategic relevance of global cooperation policies with the participants.
