Despite a thunderstorm warning, around 60 registered guests made their way to Publix in Berlin on 4 June, to take part in the panel discussion on the cover topic ‘Arctic Fever’ of the magazine Good Impact. Accompanied by music from the Arctic regions, Dr Dorothea Wehrmann (IDOS), Dr Michael Karcher (Alfred Wegener Institute) and Franziska Saalmann (Greenpeace) discussed with Good Impact editors Anja Dilk and Bianca Kriel various ideas and approaches to counter the strong and complex effects of climate change in the Arctic regions. Dr Dorothea Wehrmann referred in particular to findings from the DFG-funded SUDEA research at IDOS, which were recently published in an open access monograph by Routledge. The podcast of the event with the contributions from the panel discussion will be published soon at https://goodnews.podcaster.de/goodnews.rss.
