Dr Nicholas Goedeking, researcher in IDOS’ Klimalog project, has been awarded the esteemed Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarship at the Transforming Transportation conference hosted by the World Bank in Washington, DC, on 12 March.

The award recognises Dr Goedeking’s work on how fiscal policy reforms enabled major urban transit transformations across cities in Colombia, Mexico and South Africa. The Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarship is one of the highest honors for emerging scholars who challenge conventional wisdom in sustainable mobility research.
The award is financially supported by the Volvo Research and Edu
cational Foundations. Notably, Dr Goedeking is the first researcher from a German institute to receive this recognition since its inception in 2013.
