Against this background, the Working Group on Peace and Development (FriEnt), a German association of state organizations, church aid organizations, civil society networks and political foundations, together with IDOS, organized a discussion event with around 50 German and mostly international participants. The discussion focused in particular on how a future security strategy can include the perspectives of actors from the Global South, especially civil society groups. The event took place as a special event of the Security Policy Alternatives Network (SPAN) conference held at the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation in Berlin.
