As of 1 October 2025, the IDOS library will be responsible for the G7/G20 Documents Database (g7g20-documents.org). The database hosts official documents from both bodies, enhancing transparency and enabling targeted analyses of global decision-making, discourse, and political trends.
The database contains all official documents of the G7 (since 1975) and the G20 (since 1999) and brings together summit communiqués, ministerial statements and other announcements in one place. This creates a high level of transparency regarding the decisions of these two club governance bodies. Researchers, policy makers and civil society observers can download G7 and G20 documents and search full texts to analyse the official language and thematic development of both bodies in a targeted manner. In an era of rapid change for international bodies such as the G7 and G20, the G7/G20 Documents Database provides a reliable basis for understanding global decision-making processes, examining discourses and classifying trends in international politics.
